Bedford Forum
Presented by Appalachian Power
Each year, the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Bedford Forum, which is not a debate but rather a civil informational session for voters leading up to Election Day. Last year, we heard from balloted, opposed candidates representing the Town and/or County at the state and local levels. This year, there are four balloted Town Council candidates running for four open seats.
While we still have a moderated Q&A with candidates, we will also offer an informal "Meet & Greet" segment at the beginning of the event. Doors open at 5:00PM, and the "Meet & Greet" will end at 6:00PM, which is when the on-the-stage portion will begin.
Before the Q&A, attendees will hear from Mary Zirkle, Director of Planning & Community Development, regarding the Town's upcoming 2045 Comprehensive Plan. Submit input for the Comprehensive Plan HERE.
This free event will be moderated by Tim Saunders, Business Engagement & Community Outreach Coordinator for the Central VA Workforce Development Board. The Q&A will be broadcasted and recorded on Facebook Live for those unable to attend.
