Thursday, September 30th: For technology start-ups and early stage tech firms, funding your research and commercialization efforts is key to success. The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) is a state funded non-profit in Virginia with a mission to help support the funding needs of early stage technology entrepreneurs. The Region 2000 Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Technology Council, and the Center for Advanced Engineering & Research, will sponsor a CIT session on Federal Funding and Private Equity Funding. The workshop will provide information on Federal small business innovation and technology transfer grants, venture capital, private equity and angel investments. This is a FREE workshop, but advance online registration is requested due to space constraints. The workshop will be held on Thursday, September 30th from 9 AM to 12:30 PM at the Business Development Centre, 147 Mill Ridge Road, Lynchburg. Bedford Museum & Genealogical Library: “ The Bedford Museum and Genealogical Library now has Summer Trains. The Christmas Trains have been so popular; The Bedford Central Railroad Group has installed a “G” gauge layout in the first floor display room. The display will likely be up through the summer. The new layout will start operating Friday night July 9. The Museum is open Monday through Friday, 10:00AM to 5:00 PM, second Friday nights until 8:00PM.

Bedford Pregnancy Center: A Temporary home is now located at Brookhill Wesleyan Church in Forest! Phone number is still the same 540 587-5900. They will continue seeing clients as usual beginning Monday August 30th.

Camp Karma: Pleased to announce that they are open for business and are accepting reservations for the upcoming July 4th holiday. Open 7 days a week from 9am-8pm with 37 primitive campsite and some sites for small campers up to 25 feet on Goose Creek.
