The Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring you the “2008 Beach Bash”! This new event will feature great beach music, dancing - with the opportunity to learn steps from the area’s best Shaggers, food and beverages, and new this year - a wine festival!

Music

This year’s entertainment features Bill Deal's Original Rhondels.

From Virginia Beach, the Original Rhondels are a music tradition who have performed their hit recordings in almost every major city in the United States. Since 1969 the Original Rhondels continue to perform the great music that earned them a star on the Legends Walk of Fame. Performing from Orlando & Tampa, Florida, to Charleston & Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; from Montgomery, Alabama to Washington, D.C., the Original Rhondels delight their audiences at corporate and family events, as well as festivals and concerts.

Wine & Food

What’s a festival without good food and great wine? There will be a variety of food, beverage, and other vendors items available from hot dogs and funnel cakes to BBQ and quesadillas….there’s something for everyone! PLUS NEW this year is a wine festival! The following local wineries will provide tastings and will have wine available for purchase:

Don’t forget those dancing shoes! We’ll have local shag clubs performing demonstrations and assisting with a Shag Contest! Not a dancer? There will also be great door prizes given away all afternoon and a DJ from BOB-FM on site!

With “far out” entertainment like this you’re sure to have a “blast”. So break out your beach blankets and sunscreen and meet us on the beach at Smith Mountain Lake for a “crazy” good time! This event is RAIN or SHINE! No coolers, picnic baskets, or pets allowed on the premises.
